Refereance: IQAC Meeting – Action Plan for 2022-2023

Dear IQAC Members,

This is to inform you of an upcoming meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Mount Everest College, Senapati, Manipur. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Principal’s Office to discuss the action plan for the academic year 2022-2023.

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Deliberation on the significance of celebrating national/international commemorative days, events, and festivals.
  2. Preparation of the academic calendar, timetable, class teacher assignments, and social media group in-charges.
  3. Discussion of the new admission procedure under NEP 2020.
  4. Implementation of daily special coaching (skill development) for 5th and 6th semesters.
  5. Planning for the celebration of World Environment Day.
  6. Development and launch of an anti-ragging campaign.
  7. Formation and student enrolment in various committees and clubs.

B. Meeting Agenda:

  1. Reviewing the Significance of Celebrating National/International Events: Discussing the value of integrating cultural awareness and understanding through participation in commemorative days, events, and festivals.
  2. Academic Calendar and Management: Finalizing the academic calendar and timetable, assigning class teachers, and appointing social media group administrators.
  3. Implementing the New Admission Procedure under NEP 2020: Aligning with Manipur University’s regulations and ensuring adherence to the new admission and examination framework for undergraduate programs.
  4. Daily Skill Development Coaching for 5th/6th Semesters: Initiating daily special coaching sessions in [specify skill area] for 5th and 6th semester students to enhance their skill sets.
  5. Anti-Ragging Campaign: Launching an awareness campaign on June 30th to educate students about ragging and its negative consequences.
  6. Formation and Enrollment in Committees and Clubs: Revising the plan for establishing and enrolling students in various committees and clubs. The revised plan will be submitted between August 1st and 20th.

C. Meeting Summary:

  • Opening Remarks: In a tone of welcome and gravitas, the Vice Principal launched the meeting with a captivating opening address.
  • Discussions:
  • Celebrating World Events: The committee emphasized the importance of cultural awareness through event participation and tasked the NSS Unit with organizing the World Environment Day celebration.
  • Academic Calendar and Event Review: Various committees presented reports on past events, which were reviewed by IQAC members.
  • NEP 2020 Admission Procedure: A committee was formed to develop the new academic calendar and timetable in line with NEP 2020 and Manipur University regulations. The Academic Dean was requested to attend revisions and monitor developments in the admission process at the affiliated university.
  • Daily Skill Development Coaching: Resource personnel were appointed for the daily coaching sessions, and the committee discussed the potential impact on student skill development.
  • Anti-Ragging Campaign: The Anti-Ragging cell was entrusted with organizing the campaign on June 30th to raise awareness and prevent ragging.
  • Committees and Clubs: The revised plan for committee and club formation and student enrollment was finalized and will be submitted within the specified time frame.
  • Closing: With a graceful bow of appreciation, the IQAC coordinator acknowledged the invaluable contributions of each participant, bringing the meeting to a dignified close.

Deliberation on the Importance of Celebrating National/International Commemorative Days, Events, and Festivals:World Environment Day was held on June 5th, 2022, by the NSS Unit and the Botany Department.
2. Preparation of Academic Calendar, Timetable, Appointment of Class Teachers, and Social Media Group In-Charge:The academic calendar and timetable have been prepared and distributed to students and faculty. Class teachers and WhatsApp groups have been established for each program and class.
Deliberation on the New Admission Procedure under NEP 2020:Admissions under NEP were conducted following the strict guidelines of Manipur University’s Admission and Examination Regulations for the four-year undergraduate programs in Science, Arts, Commerce, and other streams for 2022.
Daily Special Coaching (Skill Development) for 5th/6th Semesters:A tentative schedule with resource personnel has been set for daily special coaching sessions with skill enhancement classes for 5th and 6th semester students. These classes are currently in progress.
Anti-Ragging Campaign:The Anti-Ragging Cell conducted an anti-ragging campaign on July 30th, 2022.
Formation and Enrollment in Various Committees and Clubs:Students have enrolled in a total of 17 clubs.
