Blending academics with action, the Department of Botany and the Eco Club of Mount Everest College, Senapati, organised an educational field trip to Kapamodzü Peak in Phek district, Nagaland, on May 3, 2025, followed by a meaningful cleaning drive at the serene KYU Range.
Led by Miss K. Kateni, Head of the Botany Department, and Mrs. Esther Jatak, teacher-in-charge of the Eco Club, the group of 18 enthusiastic students turned their journey into a platform for learning and environmental care. While observing the unique vegetation of Kapamodzü, they also cleaned the beautiful KYU Range — a peaceful, meadow-like area of cultural significance.
This initiative highlighted how education rooted in real-world experiences can inspire responsibility and sustainable action.
