The National Voters’ Day has been celebrated on January 25 every year since 2011, all across the country to mark the foundation day of Election Commission of India, i.e. 25th January 1950. Theme for this year’s National Voters’ Day is “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure”
The main purpose of the National Voters’ Day celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximize to spread awareness among voters and for promoting informed participation in the electoral process.
In this regard, Mount Everest College, Senapati also joint with the rest of the nation in celebrating the National Voters’ Day 2023 by conducting Awareness programme in the College Campus. Principal, Faculties and first Semester students were taking part in this programme. Mr. Lanchenba, Asst. Prof. Dept. of History, MEC, Speaking as a Resource Person, he deliberated that the main idea of the programme is to let the citizen of India aware of their voting rights which is being given by our constitution. The article 326 of India constitution provided that every person who is a citizen of India and who does attend the age of 18 or above has the right to vote.
The main theme Nothing like voting, I vote for sure is dedicated to the voters which conveys individuals feeling and aspiration towards participation in the electoral process through the power of vote. Further he encourage all the students and teachers to make their voting right to fulfil the idea of Democracy of India by making us all aware of participation towards the smooth running of Democracy founded for our Nation.
