REPORT ON ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ON ROLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION FOR TEACHING LEARNING DEVELOPMENT IN PRESENT SCENARIO.

A One Day National Seminar on the “Role of Higher Education for Teaching Learning Development in present scenario” was conducted in our College on 12th October, 2019 at the College Auditorium.All the staffs and students of the college attended the Seminar. The seminar aimed to bring together educators, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders in the education sector to discuss and explore the critical role of higher education in shaping teaching and learning practices in the contemporary landscape.

The event has the following as its Resource Persons:

  2. Dr. Ramgopal Kushhwala, Principal, MTM College, Ziro- Arunachal Pradesh
  3. P.V Rowo Pou, Programme Officer (CRTE) ZEO, Senapati

The seminar commenced with a thought-provoking keynote address by Mr. Gonmei Meithuanlungpou, Vice-Principal of the College. He underscored the importance of student-centered learning approaches, pedagogical innovation, and the integration of technology in higher education institutions and the need for continuous professional development for faculty members to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.

Throughout the day, a series of speakers delved into various topics, including curriculum design, faculty development, technology integration, and research and innovation in higher education. Panelists shared their expertise, experiences, and best practices, sparking meaningful conversations and knowledge sharing among participants.

Dr. Manoj Chaudhary, Professor, Chandigarh University highlighted the significance of designing curricula that are aligned with industry needs and promote critical thinking skills among students. Higher education institutions design and develop curricula that are relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with industry needs. He also asserted that Higher education promotes pedagogical innovation by exploring new teaching methods, technologies, and approaches to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Dr. Ramgopal Kushhwala, Principal, MTM College, Ziro- Arunachal Pradesh emphasized the role of faculty development programs in equipping educators with the necessary tools and techniques to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences. P.V Rowo Pou, Programme Officer (CRTE) ZEO, Senapati discussed the importance of integrating technology in the classroom to enhance student engagement, facilitate personalized learning experiences, and prepare students for the digital age.Higher education leverages technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences. From online learning platforms and virtual classrooms to educational apps and simulations, technology enables interactive and engaging learning opportunities that cater to diverse student needs.

The seminar concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing teaching and learning practices in higher education institutions, including promoting student-centered learning approaches and personalized learning experiences. Investing in faculty development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Leveraging technology to create interactive and engaging learning environments. Encouraging research and innovation in higher education to drive advancements in teaching and learning practices.
