On September 25, 2024, the Department of Zoology organised a One-day Field Trip to two significant locations in Kohima, Nagaland. The first visit was to the Sericulture Farm in Kohima, undertaken as part of the 1st Semester SEC-Sericulture syllabus. During the visit, students gained hands-on experience in silk production, mulberry cultivation, and silkworm rearing. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to further enhance collaboration and learning opportunities.
The second destination was Pulie Badze Wildlife Sanctuary providing an opportunity to study the region’s diverse flora and fauna. This field trip enhanced students’ understanding of sericulture and wildlife conservation through hands-on learning and real-world observations.
